In Mandala Stones, players will embark on an exciting and challenging journey of collecting vibrant stones and building towering structures. With a combination of strategy and a little bit of luck, players use artists to gather stones that bear the same pattern as the artists and stack them into towers on their player boards. Every move must be carefully thought out, as players must choose between collecting stones or scoring them.

When it comes time to score, players have the option of removing stones based on their color or height, with each removed stone earning them points. The points earned will be determined by the scoring conditions on the player board, which may vary depending on the height of the stone in the tower or the number of colors in the tower. The stones removed are then placed on the central mandala, where players can score even more points depending on the spaces they cover.

The game comes with 96 stones in total, with 24 stones in each of four different colors and 48 stones in each of two different patterns. The stones are placed randomly on the main board in stacks of four and the artist pillars are placed in their starting locations.

With each round, players must make the most of their turns and ensure that they can either pick stones or score stones. If a player is unable to do either, or if a stone placed on the central mandala covers the game-ending space, the round will end and players will have an opportunity to score their secret objective cards.
