Quantity

Welcome to Sintra, Portugal! After your successful tile decoration in King Manuel's Royal Palace, you're now tasked with furnishing the palace windows with stunning stained glass. However, be careful not to break any glass or waste supplies, as the King expects perfection!

How to Play Azul Stained Glass of Sintra?

In Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra, players take turns drafting and placing glass pane pieces to complete their stained-glass patterns. The game is played over six rounds, each consisting of several turns.

Setup:

Place the scoreboard, round factory discs, and glass tower in the play area. Randomly fill each factory display with four pane pieces. Put one pane piece of each color in the round track, with bonus tiles matching the color in the first space.

Palace Boards and Pattern Strips:

Each player receives a Palace Board, pattern strips, a Glazier pawn, and colored cubes matching their chosen color. Players choose a side (A or B) of their Palace Board, each offering different scoring objectives. Pattern strips are placed above the Palace Board.

Rounds:

During each round, players take turns performing one of two actions: advance a pattern or move the Glazier.

Advance a Pattern:

Choose a factory display or the center area to draft all pane pieces of a single color. Place the drafted pieces on one of your pattern strips, below or to the left of the Glazier. Check if the pattern is complete, and score points accordingly.

Move the Glazier:

Instead of advancing a pattern, players can move their Glazier pawn back to the leftmost pattern strip. This allows for strategic positioning and sets up future turns.

Penalties and Glass Tower:

If a player collects more pane pieces than they can place, they must move down the penalty track. Penalties become more severe as you progress. The glass tower holds discarded pane pieces, adding a visual element to the game.

Bonus Tiles and End Game Scoring:

Each round, the color of the pane piece in the round track determines the bonus points for completed pattern strips. At the end of the game, players earn bonus points based on the objectives of their chosen Palace Board side (A or B).

Winning the Game:

After the sixth round, players calculate their final scores, including bonus points. The player with the highest score emerges as the master glazier and the winner of Azul: Stained Glass of Sintra!
